Step 3.
Connect to FuturesTalk using hotComm IM-Live Java provided in the "sign in" button above.
Save the link as a favorite in your browser. To successfully launch the client, you will need to turn off popup blocker.

Your Choices:  We provide the Java client to accommodate easy sign-in to FuturesTalk.  FuturesTalk uses hotComm, a separate company requiring a separate subscription to facilitate connectivity between traders.  hotComm offers a myriad of options.  Although not the least cost, we find the best choice for traders is hotComm Standard at $69.95 a quarter.

You can hear the audio and view all charts provided by moderators but you are not able to perform these important functions, otherwise available from hotComm Standard, with the Java option:

1.  You may receive private messages but you are not able to reply.  hotComm Standard and Lite enable you to double click room members to exchange private messages.  hotComm Standard evens enables you to start a private hotComm session and share your own charts with another room member.

2.  hotComm Standard and Lite have refresh functions for when you know there is a chart but can't see it.  Java does not.  The only way to refresh Java is to log off and then launce the client again.

3.  Chat text starts at logon in Java. hotComm Standard and Lite chat text starts from midnight each day and copies transcripts into hotComm folders on your desktop for later referral.  Also, in Java, the text tends to scroll to the top when you prefer it add to the bottom of your window.

4.  hotComm linkage is different for each type of connection offered.  For example, when hotComm Standard launches, you see a window containing the various Relays.  FuturesTalk is located in Relay 3.  You just click it and enter.  It remembers your password in hotComm Standard if you allow it to remember. When using hotComm Lite, the link is: Relay:futurestalk.net:roomkey.

5.  Recent versions of Microsoft WindowsXP is no longer being shipped with Java installed.  If you need to install Java, go to http://www.java.com/en/.

6. After your trial, when you become a subscriber, you will need to subscribe also to hotComm.

7. FuturesTalk is very different from many live trading rooms.  We believe in the axiom that to feed a man for a day, give him a fish but to feed him for life, teach him to fish. Our moderators are great mentors and good teachers and when you devote the 30 hours a week presently moderated between 5:15 AM and 1:30 PM Pacific, you will learn enough about trading to trade much better than you did when you joined us. One third of us have been in the room since the inception in December 2003.  Another third have been around for nearly a year.  The other third had been with us a quarter.  We have noticed that once a member, always a member until something drastically happens to change one's life.  But one caveat: Our trail promotions attract 20 to 30 a month; however, we must be doing something wrong because only one or two subscribers realize the value and jump onto the wagon.  U have to work at getting acquainted with us to realize the value.  Spend time in the room... spend those 30 hours I just mentioned.  We know we have good thing going and we are not working too at building a marketing machine... we just want to share our wisdom with a few friends... but it costs money to make money and the little you invest in money to be among us is paltry when compared to the skills you learn and the time you invest.
